A seven-story apartment complex designed to provide more affordable living options is expected to open near the Sky Ridge Light Rail Station in late 2022, according to a Jan. 4 news release.
Construction started on the Sky Ridge Station Apartments Jan. 4 at the corner of Sky Ridge Avenue and Park Meadows Boulevard The Sky Ridge Station Apartments complex will include more than 1,500 square feet of retail and gathering spaces, according to the release.
The complex will have 240 units, 80% of which will be one-bedroom apartments, according to the project site improvement plan, the remainder being two-bedroom units. The units will range in size from 544 to 1,121 square feet.
The Sky Ridge Station Apartments are being built on the last parcel of land of the Sky Ridge transit-oriented development site, just west of the Sky Ridge Light Rail Station. On the east side, Kiewit, an engineering and construction firm, is constructing its regional headquarters, which will bring more than 1,000 new jobs to town when finished.
The apartments provide an ideal addition to the area and fulfill a need for higher density and urban-style apartments at an attainbable price, said Keith Simon, executive vice president for Coventry Development Corp., the master developer of RidgeGate.
“This comes at a perfect time for RidgeGate as the west side is nearly built out, and we are continuing to see many new residents to the area thanks to the numerous employers here as well as the overall connectivity of the community and the 2019 opening of RTD’s Southeast Light Rail Extension,” Simon said in the Jan. 4 release. “With the access to the rail and also the Lone Tree Link On Demand free shuttle, residents can realistically be much less dependent on owning and using a car.”
The Sky Ridge Station Apartment project will cost $80 million, according to the release. The apartments will come complete with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, walk-in closets and private balconies, according the release.
“The goal is to provide high-quality housing with direct adjacency to some of the community’s largest employers and sustainable transit,” the Jan. 4 release states.
The Sky Ridge Apartments complex will include a pool with a viewing deck, outdoor kitchen and fireplace, a large, residents-only dog park, co-working spaces, a fitness center, yoga studio and a rooftop deck. The retail space will be a dining hall-style space open to the public, according to the site improvement plan.
The Sky Ridge Apartments are being built by Regency Partners and Coventry Development Corp., the master developer for Lone Tree’s RidgeGate neighborhood. Once this project is finished, the Sky Ridge area, already with two nearby apartment complexes, will have roughly 700 residential units in all.
