What makes you the best choice for this office?
I feel that I am the best choice because I’m a Douglas County native. I currently live in the Craig & Gould neighborhood with my husband, Billy, and our 3-year-old son, Wyatt. We owned a small business for seven years in downtown Castle Rock. I am currently the vice chairman of the Historic Preservation Board and recently resigned as vice chairman from the Design Review Board to pursue my community journey with town council. I am extremely passionate about this great place and I am excited to serve the residents of Castle Rock.
If you’re elected, what one single issue will be at the top of your agenda?
I don’t have an agenda. I look forward to serving with my elected peers and town staff to make decisions that are best for our community.
If you’re elected, what must you accomplish in order for you to consider your term a success?
Success takes team. I’ve been so proud of our community leaders thus far. I can only hope to make my community proud of me and the decisions I help make.
If elected, how would you continue work to help small local businesses recover from COVID-19?
There’s no doubt that small business is a critical part of our local and national economy. These businesses will continue to need the support of all of us during our current situation and otherwise. Shop local!
What do you believe is the best way for Castle Rock to manage growth and development in coming years?
Not only as a board and commission member but also a former small business owner, I have learned a tremendous amount about why and how our community is so great. We have attracted great people, great shops, great amenities, greats parks, great open space and I look forward to what the future holds for smart growth and development.
