What makes you the best choice for this office?
What makes you the best choice for this office?
I’ve lived here in HD5 (downtown Denver) since 2002 and spent this time getting to know families, businesses, non-profits and people from all walks of life. I volunteer in my community and I started my business right here in the district. I’m for equal rights and opportunity for everyone here and across the state. I feel I represent the district, as someone who grew up in metro Denver, owns a job-creating business here and is very involved in the community and in the Democratic Party.
If you’re elected, which one single issue will be at the top of your agenda?
As a member of the Energy and Environment Committee, clean energy is a top priority for this year. I believe everyone deserves the right to clean air, water and a good quality of living. I’m also the chair of the LGBTQ Caucus in our legislature, and we accomplished some great legislation in the 2020 session and I’m looking forward to continuing that.
What measure or measures will you push for in the new year to make strides towardeconomic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic?
Given the budget crisis our state is in with the pandemic, I think we really need to support minority-owned businesses and small businesses, and continue to work for legislation that helps bring equal opportunity across our communities. I also feel that we need to make sure we are working on solutions that help people find work and long-term housing security.
