On Oct. 2, at approximately 8:42 p.m. Lakewood police agents responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle crash of a white Kia sedan on eastbound 6th Avenue just east of Kipling Street. The driver was a 22-year-old female and the only occupant at the time of the crash.
The female was ejected from her vehicle during the crash. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead due to her injuries.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated but high speeds are believed to be a factor. The identification of the driver was not immediately available.
The Lakewood Police Department is asking for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw the crash or the vehicle driving before the crash to call, 303-980-7300.
