Applewood homeowners have an opportunity to help clean up their properties and neighborhood, this coming Aug. 29.
Trash, recycling and yard waste dumpsters will be provided from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Applewood Baptist Church, 11200 West 32nd Ave., courtesy of the Wheat Ridge TLC Neighborhood program.
The program is a collaborative effort by multiple Wheat Ridge departments, and the group Localworks. Wheat Ridge TLC stands for Traffic Safety, Life Quality, and Crime Reduction. The program is conducted every year by the Community Services Team and is designed to engage the community in proactive code enforcement strategies.
There are new COVID-19 safety guidelines for this neighborhood day:
• All patrons must remain in their vehicles until their turn to dump and directed to do so.
• Social distancing must be adhered to at all times.
• Masks, eye protection, and gloves will be required to be worn by all personnel and volunteers.
• Patrons will be required to dump on their own and will need to bring help with them for large items as volunteers should not be assisting with dumping in an effort to protect the health and safety of personnel.
