Colorado high school football will be played in the spring because of
COVID-19 concerns, the state’s governing body for prep sports announced Aug. 4.

Football practices are now set to start Feb. 22, with games getting underway on March 4 leading up to state championships in May, the Colorado High School Activities Association said.
Other high school sports now scheduled for the spring are boys soccer, girls volleyball, gymnastics, and field hockey.
Boys golf, cross country, softball and boys tennis will be played in the fall, as CHSAA previously announced.
CHSAA also announced that boys basketball, girls swimming, cheer and wrestling will take place from early January into March, and that baseball, girls golf, lacrosse, track and field and girls soccer will happen between late April and late June.
