• Monday, July 20 — Georgetown police responded to an ordinance violation in the 400 block of Taos Street that reportedly involved people smoking marijuana outside and the smoke wafting into the school. Officers contacted those who were smoking and issued a warning.
• Tuesday, July 21 — Idaho Springs police and other agencies responded to a broadcast about a reckless driver heading eastbound on Interstate 70. An ISPD officer observed the vehicle and stopped it. The driver told the officer he had been assaulted earlier in the day and had obvious trauma to his face and head. There was no evidence of intoxication, and Clear Creek EMS took him to the hospital.
• Tuesday, July 21 — Idaho Springs officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 2400 block of Colorado Boulevard. Someone had cut themselves with a knife, and another person had disarmed them. Alcohol was allegedly involved in the incident. The injured person was taken to the hospital, and the other person was arrested for violation of a protection order.
• Wednesday, July 22 — Idaho Springs officers executed an arrest warrant on a local man for alleged possession of a dangerous drug. The person was taken into custody without incident.
• Thursday, July 23 — Georgetown police responded to a theft in the 1100 block of Main Street. The resident’s ex reportedly stole several items, including camping and fishing equipment. The investigation continues to determine whether the items were solely or jointly owned.
• Thursday, July 23 — An Idaho Springs officer contacted residents who were reportedly letting their large dog run in the 3200 block of Riverside Drive. During the contact, the officer determined one of the people involved had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Adams County for child abuse. The person was taken into custody without incident.
• Saturday, July 25 — Georgetown police responded to a suspicious-activity call in the 1400 block of Argentine Street. The call involved a vehicle with out-of-state tags that had been seen in the area for several days. The occupants were contacted and told officers that they were waiting for an individual to get off work at a nearby store.
• Saturday, July 25 — Idaho Springs officers responded to a report of someone sleeping in the stairwell of a business in the 2400 block of Colorado Boulevard. The person was reportedly intoxicated and had an outstanding felony arrest warrant for motor vehicle theft. However, because of COVID-19 restrictions, the warrant was non-extraditable. The person was voluntarily admitted to detox.
