Douglas County residents have two more opportunities for a free COVID-19 diagnostic swab test through the end of August.
All testing events are held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until test kits run out. Each location has 200 tests available per day. Anybody who lives or works in Douglas County is eligible for a free diagnostic swab test.
The next available testing event begins at 9 a.m. Aug. 13 at CU Denver South, 10035 S. Peoria St. off Lincoln Avenue, Lone Tree. Another event will be held Aug. 25 at the PACE Center in Parker, 20000 Pikes Peak Ave.
Medical insurance is not required to receive a test. No antibody testing will be offered at these events. Patients are welcome through walk-up, drive-through or on a bicycle. Officials ask people to not show up prior to 8 a.m. in order to save space for vehicles. Wait times will vary throughout the day.
Free tests are also available to symptomatic individuals, high-risk/high-priority workers, as well as essential workers, and individuals who need required testing to return to work or receive admittance into sports, camps or other programs.
High-risk or high-priority workers include:
• Child care workers
• Supermarket employees
• Seniors and their caregivers and family members
• Educators
• Individuals with preexisting conditions and/or are immunocompromised
• Individuals who are uninsured
• Individuals who have recently traveled or plan to travel with the next seven days
Forms will be available to fill out at the testing sites. Each individual receiving a test needs to bring photo identification, their own pen and a clipboard. For more information, visit douglas.co.us/covid-19-testing.
