Three Englewood Police Department employees tested positive for COVID-19 in the last three to four weeks, the department announced.

The release came after a July 22 story by KUSA-9News included Englewood Police in an updated list of COVID-19 outbreaks in Colorado.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment defines a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak as two or more cases of the virus in a facility or group with onset in a 14-day period. 9News listed the Englewood Police Department’s COVID-19 cases under a section of its story titled “Miscellaneous new outbreaks reported this week.”

The employees were sent home immediately, and measures were taken to reduce and prevent the spread of the virus like reducing the workforce in the Englewood Police Department building, the release says.

The three employees are doing well, and there are no new reported COVID-19 cases within the department. Englewood Police consulted with the Tri-County Health Department on the issue, the release reads.
