Sandy Albers (DeRoeck) 67 was born in Washington D.C. on March 23, 1945 and died July 10, 2012 in Evergreen, Colorado.
Sandy was the daughter of Robert and Glennyce DeRoeck and sister of Teri Lee Luetke and Robert Lee DeRoeck Sr.
She was married to Robert Albers in 1964 and was mom to their three children, Robert James Albers, Sr., Wendy Heffner (Albers) married to Kirt Heffner, and Ronald Albers married to Jamie Albers. She was the loving “Nana” to nine grandchildren Robert, Bobby, Dashinae, Alexandria, Teri Lee, Jordan, Colt, Yolanda and Steve and great-grand daughter Sophie. She was also the loving Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert James Albers, Sr. and her sister Teri Lee Luetke.
She grew up in the Chicago suburbs until the age of seventeen when her family moved to Georgetown where she attended and graduated Idaho Springs High School in 1962. She met Bob their senior year in high school and weremarried August 27, 1964. Bob and Sandy lived in Clarksville, TN until Bob finished his time in the Army. They moved back to Idaho Springs and bought the house they raised their children in, which they still own today. After raising her children to a self-sufficient age she worked as a teller for Clear Creek National Bank. Following the bank she retired from working as a bookkeeper after 17 years at Blackwell Oil Company. Her real passion in life was baking and decorating beautiful wedding cakes and if that wasn’t enough to keep her busy she worked full-time at Foley’s Department Store for 10 years.
Sandy was deeply involved with the Guardian Angelsand was an avid collector of angels in all forms. She loved spending time with her friends and doing many kinds of crafts.
The family has started a Sandy Albers memorial fund at the Evergreen National Bank, account number 4400327.
