The Arapahoe County Veterans Service Office will have its third
annual Treats for Troops Bake Sale to raise funds for a local
nonprofit that supports veterans from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10

S. Prince Street, Littleton. Proceeds will benefit Freedom Service
Dogs, an Englewood-based non-profit that provides service dogs to
veterans who return from service with a life-altering

Natural Plant Dyeing Colors from the Plant World. Create
beautiful natural colors from plant dye substances. Participants
will learn how to properly gather plant material and prepare a dye
bath; discover which mordants are toxic and which are not; and

Safety considerations and storage techniques will be discussed.

Our Little Miss is the world’s most prestigious children/young
women’s scholarship pageant Nov. 12 in the Candlewood Suites in
Englewood. This will be an open state pageant for any girl or woman
who would like to compete in a pageant that focuses on poise and

“Isn’t that Spatial? Geography’s Relevance to the 21st Century,”
presented by the Student Affairs Office at ACC, is at 7 p.m. Nov.
14 in the Half Moon. The guest speaker, Joseph Kerski, serves as
Education Manager for the Environmental Systems Research Institute.
Kerski will speak about the use of Geographic Information Systems
and how the spatial perspective to solve problems from the local to
global scale has become standard business practice in many
organizations and government agencies. This event is free and open

Memory Screening. Visiting Angels Living Assistance Services and
the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America are encouraging members of
the community to take a pro-active step toward memory health by
taking advantage of free, confidential memory screening through the
Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s ninth annual National Memory
Screening Day Nov. 15. Visiting Angel staff members will administer
the memory and cognitive screenings, which consist of a series of
questions and tasks, and takes approximately five to 10 minutes.
Screening results are not a diagnosis but will provide a current
memory and cognitive baseline that the individual can share with

provides all the ropes and safety equipment. Use arborist ropes and
