Ron Sandstrom, Republican candidate for County Assessor

Posted

Why are you seeking this office?

I am seeking re-election to the office of County Assessor to continue representing Jefferson County property owners to provide the valuation of their property in a fair and equitable manner.

What makes you the most
qualified person for the position?

I have 26 years in management and staff positions with three fortune five hundred companies where I was supervising and directing staffs of from five to 23 professionals. From 1989 to 2014 I owned my own company F & S Tax Consultants representing property owners and taxpayers throughout Colorado who have had valuation issues with county assessors across the state. Since January 2015 I have been representing all of the property taxpayers in Jefferson County with a staff of 57 tax professionals. I am the current elected Jefferson County Assessor.

What would your top two priorities be if elected?

I intend to continue maintaining the current staff of truly dedicated people. I will continue to do our due diligence and effectively communicate with the residents of Jefferson County.

What else should the voters know about you?

I have also served as the taxation council chairman for the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry. Board member of the Northwest Metro Chamber of Commerce (Arvada), Licensed Appraiser in Colorado having passed the certified general appraisal exam.

Prior to my election as Jefferson County Assessor I made several promises to the people of Jefferson County and I have kept all these promises. Much of this was due to my frustration with the failures of the office to represent the people of Jefferson County properly. I am making these changes and will continue to improve the office to better serve the people of Jefferson County.
