Through a strategic partnership between the City of Englewood and the Aurora-South Metro Small Business Development Center, a series of workshops are planned to help entrepreneurs start and operate a small business.

Workshops are given by certified instructors and are either free or low-cost. Contact 303-326-8686, info@Aurora-SouthMetroSBDC.com or Aurora-SouthMetroSBDC.com for information on the center and other classes offered.

Workshops offered in Englewood this year are:

Business Start-Up Basics: 6-8 p.m. Feb. 21 and July 16 at Englewood Public Library, 1000 Englewood Parkway. Learn the steps to starting a business. Free. Go to http://www.englewoodco.gov/doing-business/business-training for registration.

Englewood Business Resource Expo: 8-9:30 a.m. March 22 at Englewood Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway. Learn about local, county and state business resources designed to help small businesses succeed. Includes representatives from various micro-lenders. Continental breakfast served. Free. Leading Edge Strategic Planning Series: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 5, April 19, May 3, May 17 and May 31 at Englewood Civic Center, 1000 Englewood Parkway. Learn how to develop a clear vision for a business by creating an actionable business plan based on proven market research and management techniques. Starting Your Retail Food Establishment: 9 a.m. to noon June 13 and Nov. 14 at Malley Senior Center, 3380 S. Lincoln St., Englewood. Learn about economic and compliance issues, including conceptual and practical requirements for city and county, and how to transfer ownership or start a new food business.
