Firefighters offer free home safety visits for seniors

Westminster Fire Department offers Westminster residents ages 60 and up, or who have a disability, free home safety checks throughout the year.

Schedule now for a visit on Saturday, Aug. 17.

A firefighter and volunteer visit the home, complete a thorough safety check for hazards, provide free items and services, and offer suggestions on other safety improvements. Provide a ride to spay and neuter

Westminster Animal Management is partnering with SpayToday, NeuterNow to offer a convenient service to get pets spayed or neutered.

Transportation is being provided on the second Friday of each month from Westminster to the SpayToday, NeuterNow low-cost clinic.

Countryside Pool hosts Doggie Dive-in

Countryside Outdoor Pool, 10470 Oak St. in Broomfield, closes for the season at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18.

Dogs and owners can stay and swim together 4-6 p.m. at the Doggie Dive-In on closing day.

Dogs swim for free with a paying guest.

Fee is $2 per person. Prizes will be awarded for costumes, size categories and swimming ability.

Movie in the Park

Enjoy watching free, family-friendly movies on a 24-foot screen under the stars during the upcoming Movie in the Park Friday, Aug. 16 at City Park, featuring “Hotel Transylvania”. Food vendors, fun and pre-movie activities begin at 7 pm. Movies begin at dusk.

To ensure the best viewing, seating is cordoned off in sections with blanket seating in the front, low-back beach chairs in the center and camp chairs and other higher seating in the rear. For more information, call 303-658-2223.
