At 43 years old, Mario Freese, a local Denver resident, was looking for a way to increase the efficiency of his workouts when he joined the popular boot camp program at his local Life Time Fitness. Since joining just six months ago, he has lost more than 40 pounds and 10 percent body fat.

In fact, personal trainers across the area are seeing more and more people looking for new ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their workouts. “Our busy lifestyles are forcing us to find workouts that are quick and effective,” says Alex Gruin, personal trainer at Life Time Fitness Colorado Springs. “With training programs focused on strength training and cardio in a short time period, you don’t need two hours to get results.”

That same thinking is behind boot camp style classes that have been popping up everywhere—take one hour and make it count with exercises that work the entire body. Life Time Fitness, which operates three destinations in Colorado, has taken this concept even further. 

“At Life Time, we offer boot camp classes, in addition to weight loss and fitness classes to get you started,” says Gruin. “Each program uses the same TEAM (training, education, accountability and motivation) mentality and are designed to meet individual total health objectives, athletic aspirations and fitness goals.”

For those just starting out on their path to physical fitness, Gruin says TEAM Weight Loss is the program for you. “The Weight Loss is a 12-week, small-group program that meets three times weekly with a Nutrition Coach and a certified Personal Trainer, offering both nutritional guidance and work out support. It’s a great program for beginners as it helps with accountability and the small group setting is motivating to many.”

TEAM Fitness, is a cardio and strength training program ideal for those looking to increase their endurance with continued support, while the TEAM Boot Camp program is designed for those really wanting to take their fitness to the next level. 

The TEAM Boot Camp program at Life Time Fitness is a challenging, fast-paced cardio and resistance training program taught in a group format by certified Personal Trainers for either 40 or 60 minutes. “Ultimately, we’ve designed the TEAM Boot Camp program to help anyone achieve a higher degree of mental and physical fitness than they ever thought possible,” says Gruin. “The training program focuses on proper form and efficient, full-body workouts that are customized to individual needs. Many of the workouts are also easily transferable to an at home workout or your own routine at the club.”

Through August, anyone can take up to six TEAM Boot Camp classes free of charge at any of the three local Life Time Fitness clubs in Colorado. The offer is in partnership with Merrell and designed to get more people outdoors and active.  “Outside Fitness powered by Merrell allows us to offer anyone living near our Life Time Fitness destinations in Colorado the opportunity to join up to six TEAM Boot Camp class for free,” says Gruin. “The hope is that once you try it, you’ll be hooked and continue to remain active outdoors.
