Lakewood police are investigating an event at the Denver West Inn, located in the 7100 block of W. Colfax Ave., that occurred on Dec. 9.
At approximately 2:10 p.m. on Dec. 9 Lakewood police were called to a room at the Denver West Inn. Upon arrival police entered the room and observed what appeared to be a male party who was deceased.
According to information provided by the police, after obtaining a search warrant, further investigation and evidence recovered on scene indicated to detectives that the death of the male found in the room was the result of a homicide.
Detectives have arrested a Cody Kayne Sewick in connection with the crime,as of Dec. 10.
and has been detained and interviewed. His identity has not been released. Detectives feel that their case is focusing in the right direction and there is no continuing danger to the public.
The identity of the victim will not be released until the Jefferson County Coroner has notified his family.

LAC accepting submissions for 2014 show
The Lakewood Arts Council is accepting submissions for its first show of 2014, Contemporary Visions.
The juried show is open to all Colorado artists, and the theme includes any digital art, Manga, comics, cartooning, Fumetti, Anime, photography and traditional art, including 2D and 3D media.
The entry fee is $7 or $6 for LAC Members. There is a maximum of four submissions allowed.
The show will run Jan. 6 to Jan. 31 at the LAC Gallery, 85 S. Union Blvd.
Susan Gordon will jury this show and awards are $100 for first place, $75 for second place, $50 for third place and $25 each for merit awards.
The deadline for submission is Monday, Dec. 30.
There will be a public reception and awards presentation on Thursday, Jan. 9, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
