RFK: A Portrait of Robert Kennedy
“RFK,” the one-man play by Jack Holmes which took the Denver-Metro area by storm in
2013, is returning to Denver at the Avenue Theater in Spring of 2014. Directed by Terry Dodd and starring James O’Hagan Murphy, this production was a delight to audiences and critics alike. In addition to the many accolades it received from enthused audiences, “RFK” also won several local theater awards.
Through a combination of actual excerpts from speeches and public statements, along with imagined dialog, this play paints a riveting portrait of Bobby Kennedy from his days as brash attorney general to his presidential candidacy in 1968. It’s an inside and endearing look into both the man and the historical period in which he lived.
Avenue Theater has been a Denver favorite since 1985. Located in the vibrant Uptown Denver neighborhood (only four blocks from the State Capitol), it is easily accessible and contains many restaurants, bars and unique shopping options.
