No Team Score Track & Field Outstanding Performances
The Heritage Track and Field teams competed well at the Runners Roost Fort Collins Invitational on March 25th, 2014. While they were missing several athletes due to spring break, they had several outstanding performance listed below. The Eagles will continue their season on April 1st with the City of Fort Collins vs. City of Littleton meet taking place at Fort Collins High School.
Junior Morgan Smith continued her excellent season with a 5th place finish in the 100 Meters (13.18) and a 4th place finish in the 200 Meters (27.40). Kira Hines-Ike finished 6th overall in the 400 Meters with a personal best time of 1:04.69. Rachel Siekmeier finished 4th in the 300 Hurdles (52.95) and 6th in the 100 Hurdles (19.07). In the field, Natalie Shoendaller had two excellent performances. She finished 2nd in both the Shot Put (33-03.5) and the Discus (109-06).
The boys had several strong performances as well. In the 3200 Meters, Ben Mahoney led the way with a 4th place finish in 10:55. He was followed closely by his brothers Lee (5th place, 10:58) and Jay (7th place 11:11). Tomas Ornelas ran an excellent 400 Meters finishing 3rd in 52.29. Vasko Yorgov finished 2nd in the 300 Hurdles (43.17). Finally, Heritage had two individual champions. Niko Norman won the 110 Hurdles with a time of 16.37. The 3200 Relay team of Richard Weigang, Chris Pohs, Amitav Rahman, and Kevin Ramm won a close battle against Fort Collins with a time of 8:55.09.
