Monument bank robbery suspect arrested


The Monument Police Department responded to the area of 1070 West Baptist Rd regarding a Bank Robbery at the US Bank located within King Soopers Jan. 14.

Just prior to the robbery, witnesses observed a suspicious vehicle in the area and contacted the Monument Police Department. Based upon this information a potential suspect was identified. The Monument Police Department Investigations Unit obtained search warrants for the suspect’s vehicle and Littleton residence.

On Jan. 15 the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Street Task Force, as well as the Littleton Police Department, responded to the last known address of the suspect. The suspect, Jeffrey Scott Gaylord, 50 of Littleton was taken into custody and property from the robbery was recovered.

The Monument Police Department is working with the FBI Task Force, Littleton Police Department and the Castle Rock Police Department to investigate the possible connection between the Monument robbery and other robberies in the Front Range area.
