Mayor injured in motorcycle accident
Woodland Park Mayor Dave Turley was injured in a motorcycle accident on Tarryall Road yesterday (Tuesday, Oct. 8), and is now suffering with five broken right ribs with multiple breaks. His right lung was also partially collapsed.
Turley said he was in major pain, even with Morphine, in a facebook posting.
The mayor told his trainer, Cord Prettyman, that it could be at least an eight-week recovery process. Prettyman said he was still in Pikes Peak Regional Hospital and Surgery Center Wednesday morning.
The mayor was wearing a good helmet and appropriate outerwear, Prettyman said, but was still pretty scraped up, in addition to his other injuries.
