Letter to the editor: Oh yay, Chick-fil-A

Looking at the photo the Herald posted in its March 27 issue of people actually camping out overnight for the opening of the new Chick-fil-A in Highlands Ranch inspired these reminders:
• We needed another chain fast-food restaurant in the Town Center area like Colfax needs another tattoo shop.
• Chick-fil-A has a rotten track record of anti-gay discrimination, including millions donated from the corporation to gay-bashing groups.
• While it's not feasible to vet every eatery you visit based on the beliefs of its owners or corporate stakeholders, Chick-fil-A is a well-known example of how corporate titans with hateful and antiquated prejudices can make things tough for others. Why would you want to give your money to such a place?
• Eating factory-fried chicken on a bun for 52 weeks may not constitute the best nutrition plan imaginable.
