The Tri-Lakes Chamber has announced their Monday, Sept. 2 Kinetic Sculpture Derby and Street Fair has been moved permanently to the first Saturday in October. This is to accommodate many groups who have sculptures but are out of town at another event during Labor Day Weekend.

By moving it, they will be able to enter the derby and show off their marvels to the attendees.

Kinetic Sculptures are human-powered works of art and can be elaborate or as simple as two bikes with a bar between them. They will ride from Monument, up the Santa Fe Trail, around Palmer Lake, and back into Monument.

The Derby parade will start at 10 a.m., accompanied by the street fair, food court, music and games in Limbach Park. In addition, there will be a hint of an Oktoberfest feel in the form of a beer garden to round out the day.
