Hicks charged with Noren's murder
Ryan Boyd Hicks, 34, was in Jefferson County District Court on Friday, June 28, to be be charged with the first-degree murder of his roommate.
The complete charges include: first-degree murder — after deliberation; first-degree murder — felony murder; aggravated robbery; aggravated motor vehicle theft; five counts of identity theft; one count of tampering with physical evidence; six violent crime counts; and three counts of habitual criminal.
According to information released by the police, Hicks was extradited from Arizona to Colorado to face charges in the death of David Noren, 49. A warrant for Hicks' arrest was issued June 10 while he was in custody in Arizona on unrelated charges. He was returned to Colorado on June 22 and booked into the Jefferson County Detention Center.
Lakewood Police were contacted about David Noren's disappearance on May 21. Noren's body was found along Fall River Road in Clear Creek County on June 7.
Hick's next court appearance will be a status conference at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 12. At that time the court may address motions that have been filed, and it is expected that a preliminary hearing will be scheduled. If convicted, Hicks faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. He is being held without bond at the Jefferson County jail.
