Goodwill Industries of Denver will celebrate the opening of its newest retail store in Arvada on Saturday, April 12.
The nearly 20,000-square-foot location – at 6340 McIntyre Parkway in Arvada – includes a retail store and a drive-through donation drop-off area. Donations will be accepted starting March 17.
The Grand Opening on April 12 is open to the entire community. It will start with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:45 a.m. The store will open to shoppers at 8 a.m., and nearly everything in the store will be 50 percent off.
During the Grand Opening there will be refreshments and entertainment and prize giveaways.
The Arvada Goodwill store – Goodwill’s 26th retail store in the metro Denver and northern Colorado area and its second store in Arvada – will employ 25 people.
The store’s regular hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
From March 17 until April 12, donations will be accepted at the new store Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Beginning April 12, donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
At all Goodwill stores, shoppers can expect to find gently used clothing, accessories and household goods. Proceeds from the sale of donated items are used to fund community employment and career development programs for at-risk youth, struggling adults and people with disabilities.
