Fire breaks out at WPHS: Building evacuated.

At about 1:15 today a fire began at the Woodland Park High School from a grinding machine in the metal shop or in a maintenance building. The fire spread through the ceiling. The school has been evacuated. There are no known injuries. Northeast Teller County Fire Department is on scene. Traffic control has been established by the Woodland Park Police Department with assistance from the Teller County Sheriff's Office. The Superintendent has directed that school will not continue today and that parents should be notified. Buses are already on site to deliver children home. Police personnel and firefighters have been through the building two times to insure that all people are out and safe.

As of 1:50 PM the fire is officially out. Children are making their way home. Firefighters and law enforcement personnel are once again sweeping all buildings.

The Teen Center is open as of 1:45 for all kids who need to wait for rides etc.
