Police were called to the 2800 block of W. Oxford Ave. about 8:45 a.m. Aug. 8 to investigate a report of a possible Molotov cocktail in the bed of a man's truck.
The 55-year-old male victim told officers that he noticed a glass bottle partially filled with an unknown liquid that had a bandana stuffed in the neck of the bottle. He said it looked to him like a Molotov cocktail so he called police. The man said he had been on the 500 block of East Hampden Avenue for about two and a half hours before driving to the Oxford location, where he discovered the suspicious bottle.
The Denver Fire Department was called and safely dismantled the object. The case is still under investigation by Englewood detectives.
