A near-capacity crowd of hundreds watched as 25 people participated in the Annual Highlands Ranch Community Association Hot Dog Eating contest July 4 at Town Center. The contest was monitored by a team from the HRCA, known as the “Bunnettes,” who ensured all hot dogs were consumed, signaled when additional dogs were needed, and alerted stand-by attendants of any pending incidents of which there fortunately were non. The contest was won by Josh “J-Chill” Childs, who came one dog shy of tying the contest record after eating 11 dogs in five minutes. The event was sponsored by Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs, which will soon be opening in Town Center.
