Castle Rock Pirates 15, Wheatridge Warriors 12

Date of game:

Castle Rock Pirates took the game to The Warriors right from the KO and made good gains, eventually scoring a try in the corner, winger Kyle Chairenza passing to full back Aidan Donahue to complete the play. The Pirates extended their lead with a 30 yard field goal.

However it was The Warriors who got themselves back in the game to score a try of their own making the score 8 to 5.

The 2nd half saw the visitors raise their game and at the 40 minute mark scored again to take the lead, 8 to 12. As time starting to slip away it looked like The Pirates would lose their first game of the season, but right at the death Man of the Match, Vinnie Martinelli bulldozed his way over the line to score. Donahue was successful kicking the extra points to make the final score 15 to 12.

Castle Rock remain unbeaten going into Saturday's game against SWARM Rugby, KO 11am Paintbrush Park on Meadows Blvd.
