The PACE Center in Parker is thrilled to announce that Travis Tritt will headline the 2013-2014 Mainstage season on September 19. The season also presents several other national touring acts, including comedy sensations Second City and Colin Quinn, international jazz artist Jonathan Batiste, and the award-winning Leahy’s. PACE will also bring family favorite Peter Pan to the stage, with full flying effects.

“With our line-up for 2013-2014, our intention is to provide a range of quality national and regional acts to satisfy our diverse and growing audience base,” said Elaine Mariner, cultural and arts director for the town.

Travis Tritt was one of the leading new country singers of the early '90s, holding his own against Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson. Tritt has had a string of platinum albums and Top Ten singles. He’s won two Grammy’s and five Billboard Number One Singles.

America's famed comedy troupe, The Second City, is coming to Parker in October with The Best of The Second City. From the company that launched the careers of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner and Bill Murray comes the next generation of the comedy world’s best and brightest in an evening of sketch comedy and Second City’s trademark improvisation. With scripted and improvisational elements, audiences always enjoy being part of the show.

Jonathan Batiste, coming to PACE in November, is an iconic artist, unique in this generation. With his voice on piano and dapper sense of style, he has ignited the NYC music scene. He has performed in over 40 countries, has appeared in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and The Kennedy Center, and has collaborated with Wynton Marsalis, Prince, Jimmy Buffett, Harry Connick Jr, Roy Hargrove, Cassandra Wilson, and filmmaker Spike Lee among others.

The Leahy’s, who will make an appearance the day after Thanksgiving, are a Canadian powerhouse of eight musical brothers and sisters who have been playing together their entire lives. The family of instrumentalists, singers, and dancers brings a rare level of originality and musicianship to the stage, garnering numerous awards.

In “Long Story Short,” next February, Colin Quinn focuses his “articulate brand of comedy” on the demise of empires, including our own. More than standup comedy, “Long Story Short” is a hilarious blend of incisive observation, sharp commentary, and Colin’s channeling of the personalities of the past. From Socrates to Snooki, Quinn is at his satirical best, taking on the attitudes, appetites and bad habits that toppled the world’s most powerful nations.

Also on the Mainstage calendar: award-winning Scottish folk singer Julie Fowlis, eclectic chamber ensemble Sybarite5, and the return of Celtic Nights. Plus, PACE continues to present the best music, dance and theater of the region, with The Denver Brass, Wonderbound (formerly Ballet Nouveau), and Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado. More touring and local shows may be added to the Mainstage season during the year.

The season also includes three Sunday Casual Classics concerts featuring local professional musicians in an intimate and acoustically superb performance space. Audiences will interact with the musicians and enjoy a glass of wine as part of the ticket price.

New this year, the PACE Center is launching four season subscription packages: Comedy, Theater/Dance, Popular Music, and Classical Music. The 2013-2014 subscription series packages start at $87 for four shows, and will be available starting June 15. Single tickets will go on sale Aug. 1.

Tickets for the upcoming summer season on the Mainstage, which includes "Zikr Dance," "Oklahoma!" and "Sweeney Todd," are available now at PACEcenteronline.org or 303-805-6800 and at the PACE Center Box Office at 20000 Pikes Peak Ave. in downtown Parker.
