ACSO seeks suspect in halfway house shooting

The hunt is on for a gunman who opened fire inside an Arapahoe County halfway house, injuring two individuals.

The suspect, Francis Xavier Pizzo, 46, entered the Arapahoe County Treatment Center at 3265 West Girard Avenue at 1 :02 a.m. on June 28 and began shooting at the occupants inside, according the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

The two injured individuals were treated at area hospitals. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Investigators believe Pizzo may be a former client who “previously walked away” from the facility.

The ACTC is a contracted community corrections facility operated on behalf of the Colorado State Department of Corrections.

Pizzo is still at large and deputies say he should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be confronted.

He is thought to be driving a 1996 blue or green, over light color, Chevrolet Suburban with Colorado license plate 275-LDL

Anyone with information should call 911 immediately.
